Caste made choice of brides and grooms highly restricted. Looking for matches from same Caste may seem a state of mind but in fact it is a serious psychological illness leading to frustration and depression. Inbreeding is a dangerous outcome of same Caste marriages.
Its ill effects on the physical and mental health of Indian population are yet to be studied scientifically. There is a hunch that there may be some connection between large number cases of diabetes, heart disease, etc. and inbreeding. Even if it is not inter-caste marriages surely improve individual and social health. Indians unobtrusively but effectively transported Caste wherever they went and it became an international problem now. We must act before it is too late and no remedy works better than intermarriage.
